DIY: Lana Del Rey’s Flower Headband

Lately I’ve seen tonnes of these OTT flower garlands and I’m obsessed, doubt I could pull off Mara Hoffman’s full bouquet (right) but I’m gunna have a go at something like what Lana Del Reys been rocking in videos and promo images.

So here’s my take on the trend (a lot cheaper I imagine), wish I could’ve tried it with lots of different flowers but had no clue where to go to get them?? Anyway, found these white rose foam blooms in hobbycraft and actually were really reasonable at £4.99 for like 6 i think?

back to the diy…

You’ll need:

Alice band + Glue + Artificial Flowers + Ribbon

Step one: Trim the stems to about 4cm

Step two: Wrap the stem around the alice band

Step three: You can adjust the placement of the flowers once they are on the band by just sliding them along. Sometimes its easier to add them furthur down

Step four: Once all the flowers are placed, start wrapping around the band through the flowers to mask the wire.

Step five: Glue the tips and leave to dry

Annnnnnd. your done.

Enjoy!

DIY: Studded iPad Cover

Check out this amazing DIY by Glitter n Glue, something i will for sure be doing this week to my iPad. So awesome to see gadget customising that doesn’t use stick on diamantes!

Recently my level of work productivity has been at an all time low. Instead of responding to emails or taking care of other Glitter ‘N Glue business details yesterday, I spent the afternoon with a tube of E600 going rockstar on my iPad case. Seriously, I went into my craft closet to grab some paints for another project and was distracted by blinging studs. I spent the afternoon watching Wendy Williams and gluing studs to my hard iPad cover. I just had to share. Fashion meets technology. So even though when my alarm went off this morning I thought it was Friday (fail), I’m raising the coffee cup and cheersing to being  more productive today than yesterday. Cheers!

DIY Dip-Dye

Want the easiest way to get quirky dip-dye colour in your hair without the commitment of dyes? You can actually use art chalk pastels to get that instant pop colour. You can use any pastel chalks you find (here I see the massive benefit of living with art students!), but make sure they’re not oil pastels, seriously, not a good call.

Step One:  Twist the strand of hair you’re applying colour to

Step Two: Rub the chalk along the hair and twist to get best coverage (if you have dark hair apply to damp hair to boost colour)

Step Three: Brush excess chalk out and apply heat to seal ( I used my favourite Babyliss curling wand)

Step Four: Finish by styling your hair as normal and VOILA!

Try it out and let me know how you get on!
